Evening Church Fellowship

This is a lively group which meets on the first Monday evening of each month from October to July at 20.00 in the Longhurst Room - or the second Monday if the first is a Bank Holiday!
.
They enjoy a varied programme including talks by different speakers from, one year, the Pearly King to a talk on 'Sightsavers'. At times our members will show slides and videos about their various holidays, and usually have a Beetle Drive - this may sound a little dull but is renowned for ending up as a very hilarious evening

They have two musical evenings, from light to classical music, with speakers explaining their choice. A Craft Evening is also very enjoyable, with verdicts on the exhibits varying from 'Excellent' to 'Good Effort' and even 'Interesting'!

At the end of the session in July the members have an outdoor meeting where they proceed en masse for a country walk or to a local tourist attraction, for picnics or cream teas.
The nasty bit is that it costs 50p. for tea and biscuits while discussing the evening's entertainment, but £1 when the speaker is a visitor, as opposed to being home-grown.
Their leaders are certain that there is something for everyone's taste in their programme, and they would be pleased to increase their membership, which is open to everyone.
