12th Epsom Brownie Guide Pack
|
For one meeting we had the theme ‘newspapers’ and the girls were given several challenges in their Sixes using newspapers. The challenges included finding certain items in their newspaper; making a hat from a single news sheet; tearing a news sheet into the shape of a cat and a relay race using two sheets of newspaper to cross the hall floor. With it being Olympic year, at another meeting the Brownies learnt about the history of the Olympic Movement, and the various symbols associated with it. They played a game about the events in the Games, coloured in an Olympic flag and laurel wreath, and then designed their own flag for the London Olympics. The following meeting we held our own Mini Olympics and all the girls managed to win at least one gold, silver or bronze, cardboard m edal. A few weeks ago Pat took the Brownie Rose home with her so that she could give it some much needed TLC. It now seems to be thriving so we shall have to find a more suitable place for it outside the Church. The Brownies had their last meeting of the summer term on 16th July, but four of the Brownies will be going on Pack Holiday to Oxted with 1st Ewell Village Brownies for four nights at the end of July.
