The Guides entered two teams into the Scout and Guide cooking competition, they came 10th and 12th out of the sixteen Guide teams.
Both teams had a good time cooking their chosen meal, based on an international theme. The Guides enjoyed a BBQ at our campsite, especially the toasted marshmallows!!!!!
This half term the Guides have been practising for their Traditions of Guiding Badge. This has included knots, flag folding, tieing bedding rolls, and whistle signals. The Guides were tested at the beginning of July for the badge, I am delighted they all passed with flying colours. We will finish the term with a chip crawl around Epsom.
I am delighted to report that the Guide unit now have a unit helper. Her name is Marcia and she comes along every week to help. Marcia has slotted in very well to the unit.
We shall be off to summer camp the first week of the school holidays, to East Grinstead, let's hope the weather stays fine and dry for us.
As you know the Guides have been collecting the Sainsbury's Active Kids Vouchers. Now the scheme has come to an end for the year, I am delighted to say that we have passed our total of 1,000. The final count is 4,144, a fantastic total I'm sure you will agree. The Guides are now able, not only to get their fitness and dance sessions, they can also browse through the catalogue and order some extra equipment. Thank you so much to everyone who donated their vouchers to our collecting box in the Church foyer. I will let you know in due course what extra items the Guides ordered.
