12th Epsom Brownie Guide Pack

Completing their journey around the world, the girls have learnt Brownie Guide logoabout the countries of Southern Africa, Russia, Egypt and Jordan. They made and ate chocolate truffles, decorated wooden spoons and ‘Fabergé’ eggs, created Eid patterns and wrote their names in hieroglyphs. They have now all gained their World Cultures, World Issues and World Traveller badges.

The last two meetings of November were devoted to getting ready for Christmas. The girls all made Christmas crackers, Advent calendars and musical Christmas cards and decorated Christmas magnets and calendars for 2009.

As usual on our last meeting before Christmas we went carol singing at Epsom Station. All ten Brownies came to sing carols and they were all well behaved, and joyfully sang the Christmas carols and songs. We sang for one hour and raised £162 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Afterwards we all walked back to the Longhurst Room where after refreshments the girls watched a video ‘Winnie-The-Pooh and Christmas Too’.
