320th Anniversary

This year Epsom URC celebrated its 320th anniversary, and so on 2nd November the church held a small exhibition of photographs of past events and we had a special service arranged by the Worship Group to acknowledge this occasion.

An article about the early history of the church provided by Phyl Cary was read and we were treated to reminiscences of previous special anniversaries. Gwyneth entertained us with her experience as a young girl taking part in a production celebrating the 250th anniversary of the church. She also had on display a dress that had been worn at the event.

Kathleen told us her memories of our special production of ‘Murder in the Cathedral’ at which members of our congregation joined with students at NESCOT as part of our 300th anniversary celebrations. George then gave us an idea of what we can expect in the future.

We also sang some of the hymns that were specially written for the 300th anniversary. After the service coffee was served and there was a special cake with a picture of the current church on it.
