As you must know by now, Pamela was awarded her MBE ‘For services to Foster Care and to the community in the London Borough of Merton.’
Pamela brought along to church on Sunday, 23rd November, a cake that had been decorated by a friend. Pamela thought that you might like to read the poem written thereon:
Rev. Ron Talmey cutting the cake
We’re here tonight to honour Pam, Because we care (and because we can!) And what, you ask, is this honour for? Well, stick around and we’ll tell you more. Our Pam’s a saint (compared to us!) ’Cos for years and years, with no moans or fuss, Her door has been opened, be it night or day, For children who needed somewhere to stay. They’ve all been welcomed, given care and attention, Babies, toddlers and others, too many to rnention. They then move on, to pastures new, But some stayed for ever, (you all know who!) Pam’s patience is legendary, we are all in awe She’s coped with children with problems, and so much more. So for services to fostering, this coming Friday To Buckingham Palace she’ll make her way. She’ll be presented to Royalty; will her nerves stand the test? And an MBE will be pinned to her chest. And we’ll all cheer and shout and send up a roar ‘Cos, Pam, there’s no one who deserves it more. With your family beside you to enjoy the day, Congratulations and Best Wishes are coming your way.
