I am not quite sure just where to begin this month, so much is happening and life seems to be very hectic both in our family life and our Church life. You can read in this issue the report from the Steering Committee on the Church re-development to date. I will be writing to you all about the Church Meeting on 16th July; as the report says, these are exciting times. I am sure some will find it difficult to lose the Church they have known and loved for many years, but things have to move on and we are very blessed to have the opportunity to move on to another phase in the life of Epsom United Reformed Church. Please think and pray about this and make every effort to come to this important meeting, which will be held in the Church for easy accessibility for all.
Our Church life is certainly not all about development in the future – there is so much happening here and now! On Tuesday morning between 10 - 11a.m.. there will be prayers in the Church for the life of the Church; do join us. On Wednesday evening some of us will be visiting Kingston URC, along with other members of the district, for an “Area Gathering”. Since we no longer have regular District Council meetings it will be good to meet up with old friends again. Then Saturday is the occasion of the Summer Fayre in Unity Hall and that is just the first week in July!! Unfortunately,we have had to postpone the Summer Fayre at short notice, duer to circumstances beyond our control. Please watch out for the re-arranged date.
The Lunch Club meets again on 10th July so watch the notice board in the foyer for more details. The next session for the Vision4Life conversation is Saturday 12th July at 10am, when the topic will be ‘The Role of Prayer in the Life of the Church’. The last one, as you may have heard was a great success, and very worthwhile although not very well attended. Perhaps more of you will be able to attend this one, I can certainly recommend it.
If you are not sure who your Elder is, have a look in the Foyer: there is a clip frame with all the names for all to see, but I am sure you already know.
In closing I must congratulate Pam Galliers on gaining the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. This is so well deserved, and there are certainly many children who have benefited from Pam’s love and care over many years. Well done indeed, Pam.
