As in previous years we are planning to invite about 60 people, who would otherwise be on their own, for lunch on Christmas day at the Methodist Church Hall in Ashley Road. Our guests, who come from all over the town, really appreciate the opportunity to share this day with other people.
This is your opportunity to help in a practical way to enable this very special celebration to take place on Christmas Day. People who have helped in the past have always found it to be a rewarding and pleasurable experience. Not every one who has helped in the past is able to do so this year, so we are appealing for new volunteers either to help with preparations before the event or on the day itself. We need drivers to bring people here for about 12.00 noon and to take people home again at about 4.00 pm. We also need hosts and hostesses to sit down with guests at the tables and generally look after them during the afternoon.

We really want this worthwhile venture to continue but we need your help. If you are able to do so we can assure you that you will feel it has been both fun and very satisfying. We usually have about 50 people from the varying churches and we ensure that no one finds it too arduous a commitment.
If you decide to join us then please give us a ring on 01372 742 378. Please leave a message if we are not available remembering to leave your contact details.
However, if you can't help then please pray for the venture and for the people who will be our guests this year, or, if you are going to be alone and would like to attend as a guest please let us know on the above number.
