Mrs Lily Moody (1916-2008)

Lily attended the Bradbury Day Centre and that is where I first met her. She was so popular there because of her willingness to help people all the time; whether it be in the kitchen or with the hairdresser, Lily would do what she could.

Life had been hard for her brought up in London. She was evacuated to Wales during the war and had many funny stories to tell about that time, but she missed her dearly loved husband Charlie and so returned to London. Charlie was a fireman, no easy job during the blitz, but Lily supported him and worried about him. After the war Lily worked in a post office in Battersea.

When her dear Charlie died her daughter was able to get her a flat in Epsom. She loved her flat and made friends easily, enjoyed attending the day centres and going out with Route Call on many trips to the seaside.

Lily never complained about her health problems and whenever you drove her to an appointment you were sure to get a Kit Kat® or a Mars® Bar! A lovely generous lady who will be missed by her many friends.
