August 14th didn’t start out to be very promising weather-wise, and as we travelled to Amberley, we passed through a tremendous downpour, after which it looked a lot better.
About sixteen of us from the two congregations met together at the Museum car park at 11.30 a.m. We were also pleased to meet with Joan Young, who had travelled by train from Felpham.
There was so much to see that we went off in small groups to look around. We met together for our picnic lunch, which we enjoyed outdoors, but were pestered a bit by wasps which had nested nearby.

After lunch we again split into groups to explore some more agreeing to meet again for tea during the afternoon.

Although it is a large site, everything is within walking distance, but most of us had to have a ride on the train and on the old Southdown bus, just for the sake of it. A great deal of the exhibits there gave us a chance to ‘walk down Memory Lane’.

It was a lovely day out, and we thank Pat for making the arrangements for us to go.
