A number of regular members were unable to be with us for the August Coffee Morning, but we were able to forward a cheque to the ‘Street Pastors’ for £80. They were most grateful for this contribution.
On 9th September we shall be supporting ‘Sightsavers’. Do come along any time between 10:30 and 12:00. For a relatively small amount, so many folk in India, Africa and elsewhere are able to have sight problems attended to. Trachoma is an easy disease to prevent and treat for which the recipients are eternally grateful. Make 9th September a date in your diary.
[Trachoma: A contagious disease of the conjunctiva and cornea, caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis and characterized by inflammation, hypertrophy, and formation of granules of adenoid tissue. It is a major cause of blindness in Asia and Africa.]
