Minister's Letter

Dear Friends; Minister at computer

A few weeks ago, I heard a talk on Domestic Abuse, put on by Churches Together in Epsom. We were given a quiz based on domestic abuse statistics, which I challenge you to take now.

Domestic Abuse Quiz. Answer either true or false.

  1.  Domestic abuse is more frequent against women in poor working-class homes.

  2.  On average 2 women are killed in England and Wales every week by their partner or ex-partner.

  3.  Domestic abuse is only perpetrated against women.

  4.  A man who is abusive cannot control his anger or subsequent behaviour.

  5.  25 % of women experiencing domestic abuse were abused for the first time during pregnancy.

  6.  The use of alcohol and drugs can cause domestic abuse.

  7.  A woman who has left an abusive relationship is safe from further abuse by the perpetrator.

  8.  20,000 women and children spend at least one night in refuge in England per year.

  9.  70 % of children are in the same room or next room when incidents of domestic abuse occur.

10.  30 % of boys that witness domestic abuse go on to abuse female partners.

No cheating, now! The answers are on another page!

Peace,

Pat
