We do hope Margaret Lockett is feeling much improved in health. She was very unwell all the time she and Tom were away on what was planned to be a holiday in warmer climes following Tom's recent hip replacement.
Our thoughts are with Lynne. Having had only a few days home from hospital she has been re-admitted: she is in Gloucester Ward at Epsom Hospital, and is experiencing breathing difficulties .
Phemie has had treatment this week and happily she is now free from the pain and discomfort she has been suffering of late. May she continue to feel more comfortable.
It has been good to have Top Vaughan back with us after a lengthy time at home following her operation and we hope she is feeling stronger and will find as time passes there is more mobility.
The news of Peggy and Joe Wilson remains much the same. Now and again, Peggy can take Joe for a short walk. Peggy very much misses not being among us but at present it isn’t possible.
We remember Marjorie Thomson and Frank Dobby with our love and concern.
We also think of Doris and Archie Swan so much. It is good when they can be brought to service some Sundays.
To all these dear friends, we remember you in our prayers and with our affection.
We are sorry to report that Lynne Lewis, widow of our past minister, the Rev D.E. 'Del' Lewis, died on Friday, 18th December at the age of 96. We send our love and sympathy to Ceri and John and the families.
The Committal will take place at Randalls Park Crematorium at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, 8th January, 2010, and is open to all. This will be followed 2:30 p.m. by a Service of Thanksgiving at Epsom United Reformed Church and a Reception in Unity Hall.
Family flowers only, please.
Donations may be made in Lynne's memory to the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign. Facilities for making donations will be available at the church or via Longhurst Undertakers, 8-10 Pound Lane, Epsom, KT19 8RY, 01372-723548.
