Thank you very much for the joint services on 21st June at Ewell in the morning and Epsom in the evening, for all the effort that went in to them. It was a pleasure to be able to be part of the congregation, and to appreciate what was being done.
I was asked to say something in the morning service, and I decided to tell you what have been some of the high points for me over the past 5 ½ years. Here it is again!

Joint worship services, not just because there are more of us but because we have to let go of ourselves for a bit and join others in their place or welcome others into our place, and in so doing, we are more truly Christian;
The garden parties at the manse;
Dennis and Malcolm;
Unity Hall and holding services there for a few months in the winter;
The jumble sales at Ewell;
The Lent Groups that we held for the past two years;
Joint trips out, to Hollycombe Steam Fair, Amberley Chalk Pit Museum, the Bluebell Line, Brooklands, The Downlands Outdoor Museum, the canal boat ride yesterday...
The Easter Monday walks, especially last year when it snowed, and this year when it was so beautiful;
The Vision Journey at Epsom URC, which gave us new things to think about;
People who lead worship, sometimes at short notice, sometimes on a regular basis;
People who quietly get on with jobs, often many jobs;
The Church Secretaries Viv, John, and Sheila, their wisdom and their faith and their humour;
Prayers offered sincerely and with hope.
These are some of the things that I will take with me to Canada from my time with you. Thank you.
