Thanks to all those who attended the last Church Meeting and took part in the discussion about Ministerial Deployment. The outcome was interesting with most groups coming up with the same decisions. I have since filled in the questionnaire and sent it back to Synod for discussion at the next General Assembly. It will be very interesting to see what the outcome will be. I will put a copy of the completed questionnaire on the small notice board for you all to see.
Some of the Elders are attending a “Wimbledon Area Gathering” on Saturday 21st February at Trinity Wimbledon. These meetings are in place of the now disbanded District Council Meetings and are only held two or three times a year. The last one in the Autumn was held at Kingston U.R.C. and was very interesting. This coming one looks as good with speakers from the Christian Peacemakers Team, Reform and the Kingston Street Pastors. We will report back.
Easter will soon be upon us, but first don’t forget the short Service on Ash Wednesday 25th February at 10.30 p.m. in the Foyer. This is always a very meaningful and intimate time, not to be missed.
On a personal note, George, I and our family would like to thank all of you who helped at Peggy’s Thanksgiving Service. The weather was certainly dreadful and very cold, but the atmosphere in the Longhurst Room was very warm indeed. Thank you.
