My thanks go to all who stayed for the Church meeting on 11th October. For those who could not be there the resolution to pursue further the joining of the two churches, Epsom and Ewell, was carried, and since that meeting the Elders from both churches have met together with our Interim Moderator, Rev. Peter Flint, to discuss the way ahead. At this meeting it was decided that we should hold a meeting with lunch after the joint Service on 15th November at Epsom, which Peter will be conducting. This will take the form of a “Ploughman’s” after which Peter will lead the discussion. More details are on the invitation printed in this Newsletter. This should be a lively and very interesting time, so please do make every effort to be there to share your views and hopes for the future of our two Churches. Please sign the list in the Foyer to assist with the catering.
The Elders and I have been very busy writing and compiling our Pastorate Profile and this will be ready, along with Ewell’s, to present at the joint Service in November.
Still on the subject of meetings, you will have received details about the Annual General Meeting, again please give this some thought and try to attend the meeting. This is a very busy time in the life of our Church and a lot depends on the outcome of these meetings. Rev. Peter Flint has asked that we remember all these things in our individual prayers and when we are gathered as a group.
We have had two sessions with Jenny Snashall leading us on the TLS leading worship course. These have been very interesting and thought-provoking and I am sure the course will be very worthwhile.
