1. I rather liked being a dinosaur
And not being up to date;
Although I own
A mobile ‘phone
My competence is not great.
2. Yet now I am getting a lap-top,
And signing for broadband too.
I trust I will cope –
There is always hope –
And Pippa, I’m counting on you!
3. Why have I now decided
To enter the technical age?
My grandchildren, Huw
And Elizabeth too,
Have promised to e-mail a page.
4. They will send me news of their progress,
And I will get photos, to boot,
I won’t be high-tech
But my E-mails I’ll check;
So welcome an old new recruit!
And your Editor replies:
5 We know you’ll soon get the art,
But one thing you must take to heart:
To turn off the computer,
You don’t need a tutor—
The button you click on is ‘START’!
6. When I do the Mag for November
For reading by every church member,
Your comical verse
To me can traverse
By E-mail—if you remember!
