Secretary's Letter

TypistAs I mentioned in the previous newsletter, we talked with our Interim Moderator, Rev. Peter Flint, at the last Church Meeting about our Profile (the document given to any candidate for the Ministry).  It was an interesting meeting, and it was obvious from the discussion that this is not an easy task.  We eventually came up with a list of “What we would like in a Minister” and “What we would like to say about ourselves”.  Each Elder now has a copy of the lists, and we will be holding an Elders’ meeting in the near future to put the lists into a readable form for the Profile.

The replies from the questionnaire continue to be returned, don’t forget they need to be back by 30th September. Both Epsom and Ewell Churches will hold a short meeting after the service on SUNDAY 11th OCTOBER to announce the results. Please do try to stay, it will not take very long and is very important.

I think that is all the vacancy news at present.

Don’t forget to sign up for the Harvest Lunch on 4th October.  Our Ewell friends will join us and this should be a very enjoyable occasion.

Autumn is fast approaching and with it the first meetings of the various organisations.  I hope you all have a successful year.

Our Children’s Activity Day is during the October half-term. There are posters advertising the day, but if you know any children who would be interested in coming please ask for an application form.  This year the theme is “Journeying” and we will be talking about and making things to do with journeys in the Bible.  We would also appreciate more help, so if you have any free time on Thursday, 29th October, we would be very grateful. It is always a fun day.
