Top Vaughan had her hip operation at the beginning of August. She has been home for quite a time now but it has not been easy for her. However, we hope that soon she will be able to start the physiotherapy, and will then begin to feel the benefit of the operation. It was good to hear that Lynne had had the operation to secure the pin which had loosened and was causing such severe pain. Early reports indicate that she is doing well, and hopefully, when she can be discharged from hospital, she will go to the New Cottage Hospital for a while. Following a time in St Helier Hospital, Joe has been home for a while. We think of Joe and Peggy, and hope that he will feel stronger, and that Peggy is able to look after Joe. We remember Marjorie, Sonia, and Frank Dobby in our prayers and with our love. Marjorie has her 93rd birthday in two weeks’ time.
And on the right is a picture of Joseph in the guise of a Roman soldier, when he assisted Pippa in a recent service.
Percy Roberts is in a nursing home in Oxford, having moved there fairly recently. He had his 96th birthday on 24th August. We are all so pleased with the way Phemie graciously and quietly busies herself as she feels she needs to and is able. With treatment, and diverse appointments, etc., and at time, pain and discomfort, we all applaud her positive attitude. We are remembering Kim and Charlie, James and Adam at this time with our love, following the death of dear Betty. Also we would remember Malcolm Saunders, the organist at Ewell, having recently been bereaved through the death of his wife, Jacqui. May he be comforted in his time of need. Daphne’s daughter Pamela has again been in hospital, but is home again. “Hospital is definitely not the place to be over a Bank Holiday weekend!” she says.
