The Brownies raised a total of £178.82p for ‘The Rainbow Trust’ when they went carol singing at Epsom Station.
We were disappointed that only two Brownies attended the Toy Service Church Parade on 13th December at Ewell but pleased that they both took part in it.
The three Brownies from our Pack that went to see ‘Aladdin’ at the Epsom Playhouse, enjoyed it very much.
The Brownies were due to restart on Wednesday, 13th January, but this meeting had to be cancelled because of the snow. Instead we restarted on 20th January with a Jenga competition.
The following week, the girls all designed Rainbow, Brownie and Guide uniforms for the future (see below!)
We had planned that they would run their own meeting the next week, but they found it too difficult to plan, but from their suggestions, we suggested they have ‘chocolate’ as their topic, and Katie and I would produce all that was necessary. In the event, they all enjoyed playing the chocolate game and making chocolate truffles and wrote some really good poems about chocolate, some of which are in this NewsLetter.
As Katie Lardner, ‘Tawny Owl’, will be leaving us at half-term in February, Jill Popham and Tracey Pettit, the District Commissioners, held a meeting with the parents at the end of the Brownie meeting on 20th January to explain the Health and Safety aspect of the situation, and the parents very willingly volunteered to fill a parents’ rota up till the Easter break.
I have been very lucky to obtain the help of Lynn Everson as a Unit helper, she is very good with the girls and this means that I can be sure of there being another adult there with me each week.
