12th Epsom Brownie Guides
|
For two meetings the Brownies worked for their ‘Number Fun’ badge, which they have all managed to gain. We then had an evening devoted to the theme of ‘circus’ and each girl made a clown mask and pop-up puppet and decorated a collapsible bowler hat.

The last meeting in May, the Brownies took part in the sponsored Cheeky Monkey Marathon for Children with Leukaemia. For their challenge each girl decorated 26 notelets. During the same evening we were pleased to welcome Anne Richardson back to help with the flower troughs outside the church. You may have noticed that we have two new troughs as one of the previous ones had been badly broken.

On Tuesday, 11th May, Alan and I attended a special award’s evening at Epsom Town Hall when I was presented with an award for long voluntary service to Girlguiding by the Deputy Mayor of Epsom and Ewell. The Mayor came later, after attending another appointment, to be included in a photograph of all the recipients of the awards that eveningand to add her thanks to us all.
