Secretary's Letter

typistThe Secretary's Job

You may already know that George and I intend to move to Staffordshire to be nearer to our daughter and other family members. I have held the post of Church Secretary for almost eleven years and feel that I must relinquish the job at the end of this year, or when we move from the district, whichever comes first. We need to be finding a person or persons to replace me.

It may be necessary to alter the way the job is administered, and share the tasks between two or three people in order to make it less time-consuming. Please think hard, have you any spare time, could you prepare rotas, write minutes, look after the e-mails, take the 'phone calls. If you have any thoughts, ideas or candidates please let me know. I would be more than willing to discuss any aspects of the Secretary’s tasks with you.

I am sorry that this has come during such a critical time in the life of our Church, but probably there would never be a good time.
