Remembrance

November is the month of Remembrance.   Remembrance PoppyRemembrance Sunday is on 14th November, and elements of Remembrance will be incorporated into the Morning Service, starting as normal at 10:30.

On Thursday, 11th November, at a few minutes before 11:00 a.m. the Mayor and Councillors will as usual be observing the Two-Minute Silence, by the Memorial Plaque mounted on the south side of the Clock Tower. There will be a short service, and ‘Last Post’ and ‘Reveille’ will be sounded. This is a very public gathering which is very well attended, and through-traffic is generally stopped for the Silence. Be there if you can.
