Lunch Club

The meeting on 16th September would be the last opportunity that George and Sheila would have to join Plate and Cutlerywith us, so they were given the choice of venue.  Of course, so as not to waste time that could be spent in packing (!) they chose the Beefeater at Tattenham Corner, one of their locals.  We were a good number and were very well looked after. George and Sheila had been meaning to move the next day, but arrangements had gone slightly awry and they eventually moved out on the following Wednesday.   Be that as it may, we were able to give them a good send-off.

Our next meeting (our 30th!) is scheduled for 21st October, and I have gone for a return visit to the Chessington Oak, in Moor Lane.  If you recall our previous visit, we were asked to provide our orders in advance, and it really cut down the waiting time.  A menu and a list for you to sign and indicate your choice of meal will be deployed soon.

You will have noticed that I have opted for a pub local to me.  If any lunchers (the equivalent of ‘diners’!) wish to choose their local hostelry or restaurant, or any other particular favourite, then please make arrangements and let me know.  As regards future dates, the third Thursday in November will be 18th, and so far we have not met in December due to the proximity of Christmas. And January is just too far away to contemplate!
