Advent Workshop and Christingle Service
|
We didn’t let the snow beat us!! Most of the helpers were already at the church by the time the first flakes fell, and very soon thereafter the children started arriving, so we were committed! However, as the snow got deeper during the morning we began to wonder whether parents would turn up whenever they could to take their children home, so we re-arranged the day a bit, getting most of the craft work done earlier on. By lunch time the snow had stopped, but left us with 6 inches or so - Kit and Bethany went out to clear a way through for people to get to the halls (work, they called it!); I think some of the children would have liked to go out too but we decided it was probably preferable to keep them warm and dry. They had a lovely time, if their faces were anything to go by, so once again, a big thank you to all who helped in any way. Barbara Pearson managed to get to us through the snow, so the Christingle Service went ahead as planned too, albeit we moved into the Youth Centre, deciding that it was better to be warm. And a very big thank you to everyone for the wonderful card you all signed and gave to me. |
