We are delighted to announce the birth of Jake Hugh George to Suzanne (nee Smith) and Neil Adams. He was bor Michael Wood has gained his MSc in Acoustical Engineering after four years at Southampton, and is currently working at the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington. He has gained sponsorship and support for a PhD in Underwater Acoustics and will be starting again in Southampton in October. It was so good to have Doris Swan with us at Sunday's service. She and Archie celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary recently and she wanted to thank all the friends who sent cards and good wishes. Sadly, Archie is very unwell. We give time to reflect on the death of our dear friend, Phemie, on 19th June. She had suffered a long period of ill-health so courageously. She was determined to continue with the many tasks she undertook for the WCC and the church, as well as her involvement in Age Concern and other local activities. Phemie is now at peace, and knows the joy of her Saviour’s heavenly kingdom. We remember Barbara and John, who have been under considerable strain. Barbara’s mother is now home from hospital, and finding life difficult. Barbara’s physiotherapy on her arm continues, and John has been a little below par. We remember Joan and Dave Davies and hope that Joan will soon be feeling stronger. Marion Thomson had a fall and broke her hip while staying with her grand-daughter. She is now back at her own home, very cheerful, but at present very confined. Frank Dobby was 91 recently, and his daughter Anne organised a family tea party for him. We remember all these friends, together with any unnamed who may have concerns, and pray that they will know the assurance and support of the everlasting arms of love. |
