Elders' Letter for March

It is so lovely to see the sun shining once more and all the spring flowers opening out, and leaves covering theTypsit at keyboard trees once again, to produce a really colourful countryside. Some plants that really did look very dead during the winter months surprise us by sprouting new green shoots. It is also wonderful to hear the cheerful cheeping of the many birds as they return to our gardens. The sun has a magical effect on people as well, instead of a frown you get a smile from a stranger as you walk down the street, and everyone seems to have a spring in their step. There is a general feeling of ‘we have managed to survive winter, now let’s see what we can do to have a good time from now on!’

Perhaps we have this kind of feeling for our church, we have struggled through the cold, dark winter and now as we emerge into spring, maybe we will have the energy to move forward and find solutions to all our problems. It has been really good for the last few weeks to have larger congregations due to combining those of Epsom and Ewell. The singing has been uplifting and there has been a positive feeling of fellowship. This may not be the absolute solution, but it is helping us to get to know each other better and to learn to work in harmony with each other.

Enjoy the spring sunshine.
