News of the Family

We are sorry to report that dear Joe Wilson died, was buried and had his Thanksgiving Service, all since the issue of the April NewsLetter. We hope that everyone who would have wanted to go to Joe’s Service did get to know about it in time. If people still wish to make a donation in memory of Joe, his chosen charity was The Irish Guards Appeal, and I expect that the undertakers, Longhurst’s in Pound Lane, would be able to accept and forward these. It was good to see Daphne out again in time for Joe’s farewells; since returning home after breaking her arm, she had been somewhat constrained by the rather irregular attendance of her thrice-daily carers, but as these visits had just been reduced to two, she was able to escape!

Archie and Doris Swan are giving us cause for concern. We send them our love and payers, and assure them that they are in our thoughts.

Phemie has been back in the Royal Marsden for Radiotherapy treatment, but is now back home, but under observation. Phemie has, perforce, to lead a rather restricted life, but would like to thank all friends for their concern, cards and enquiries.
