We were so pleased to hear that you have a new Minister, it all sounds very exciting and another chapter in the life of Epsom URC. Thank you for the invitation to Heather’s Induction Service, but unfortunately we will be in Australia. We are off to see the other half of the family at the end of September for a month. This time we will be there for both Abbie’s and Joel’s birthdays. They have two weeks off school at the beginning of October so we will be able to spend lots of time with them as we have not seen them for fifteen months. Our newest member of the family. baby Jake, is growing rapidly. He is a real poppet, a very happy baby full of smiles and gurgles, very alert and knows how to charm his grandparents already!! We are settling into St. John’s Church and feel part of the Church already. This Sunday is ‘Harvest Festival’, which will be an all-age worship service to include the children. At the moment we are raising funds for a new Church Hall. The plans have been passed, now the funds are the next thing needed, so as you can imagine there are plenty of fund-raising events. Our garden has been quite successful this year and we have eaten runner beans, broad beans, potatoes, spinach, salad, courgettes and tomatoes and cucumbers from the greenhouse. Sounds a bit like “The Good Life”!!!! We do hope that the Induction goes well and will be thinking of you all from ‘Down Under’.
