Letter from the Elders

Elder at keyboard

I hope everyone has had a good summer and that those who have been away have returned feeling better for their break.

I am sure that we are all looking forward to our new minister, Heather Cadoux, coming to us, Ewell and Tolworth, and we will all be praying for her in this new stage in her life.

Heather’s ordination and induction will be held on Saturday, 22nd October in the Ewell church and it is hoped that as many of our people as possible will be able to be there. Ewell church have already arranged the parking that will be necessary for the large numbers, and there are car parks in Ewell for those able to walk a short way.

A meeting has already been held with Heather, and a rota has been worked out for the next year showing when she will be leading services at each church, both morning and evening. Heather is a very organised person and knows exactly what she is able to offer us all.

We must remember that this is Heather’s first year of ministry and that she is committed to certain Training and Synod Days.

The new Manse is on the borders of Stoneleigh and North Cheam, and it is hoped that all will be ready for her to move in at the beginning of October which is her official starting date. Heather’s husband Roy and daughter Sarah will remain living in Pinner until Sarah has completed her ‘A’ levels next summer.

Heather will be having Saturday as her day off so that she can spend time with her family; Roy and Sarah will be coming over to be with Heather when possible.

We must remember that Heather’s ministry is with the three churches, and she will do her utmost to give each of us a fair share of her time and commitment.

Heather’s first service with us will be our 323rd Church Anniversary on 6th November – what a nice way for us to welcome her!

Please pray for Heather, her family and the three churches as we all move into a new phase in our church life – there will be changes and exciting times ahead!

God bless you all.– Pamela.
